- Q: How can I locate qualified applicants for my open positions?
A: CareerSource Heartland (CSH) provides tools and resources for you to find the right employee the first time. Use Employ Florida Marketplace (EFM) to conduct resume searches of registered jobseekers. Discover the best ways to search and filter your results by keyword, minimum requirements, or even desired work location of the jobseeker. In addition, when your positions are listed through CareerSource Heartland, our trained staff will pre-screen candidates for you. - Q: Where can I see my position posted?
A: Employ Florida Marketplace (EFM) is the official site employers can list job openings, find qualified candidates, and access a wide variety of information designed to help a business succeed.
- Q: Do you have a place I can use for a recruiting event or to interview candidates you have referred?
A. During regular business hours, CSH facilities are available at no cost for on-site recruitment and interviewing for a posted job opening. For a small fee, large and small conference rooms may be reserved for you employment-related meetings. Audio/visual equipment may be made available upon request.
- Q: Does CareerSource Heartland assist with funding to train my employees?
A. Yes, we have a number of options available to help fund training for your employees. A member of the CareerSource Heartland Business Operations Team will work with qualified businesses to help determine which training option best meets the needs of the business. Please contact our team for more information.
- Q: How much do your services cost?
A. CareerSource Heartland provides the majority of services at no cost to the employer through funds received from federal grant programs.
- Q: What are “Work Opportunity Tax Credits”?
A. The Work Opportunity Tax credit (WOTC) is a federal income tax credit that provides incentives to private for-profit employers to encourage the hiring of individuals from targeted groups of jobseekers who traditionally have difficulty finding employment. The amount of WOTC can vary between $1,200 and $9,000 depending on the individual hired. Employers must apply for and receive certification that their new hire is a member of one of the WOTC targeted groups before they can claim the credit on their federal income tax return. - Q: Do you work with Veterans? Is there assistance for hiring a Vet?
A. CareerSource Heartland centers offer a wealth of resources, including specialized Veterans Representatives who focus on serving the Veteran population. Veterans work with our staff to find jobs, acquire skills and education, plan a career, attend workshops, and take advantage of many other resources. A business entity hiring a Veteran may qualify for the Returning Heroes, Wounded Warriors, or Work Opportunity Tax Credits.
