CareerSource Heartland is a not-for-profit corporation that operates as a demand-driven, business-focused public-private partnership. Through the oversight provided by local elected officials from DeSoto, Hardee, Highlands, and Okeechobee counties, our Board of Directors offers workforce development-related growth opportunities to both business customers and job seekers throughout our quad-county service delivery area. We recognize the unique challenges that both job seekers and employers face in today’s competitive job market. Thus, we strive to provide tailored job search and hiring solutions that effectively meet these diverse needs.
As one of Florida’s twenty-four Local Workforce Development Boards, we diligently oversee workforce and talent development activities in our quad-county region. We collaborate with various private and public sector organizations to improve the local economy and to provide essential resources to both employers and job seekers, including job search tools and guidance. From comprehensive training programs to efficient job placement services, our diverse offerings ensure that individuals and businesses can navigate the job market effectively and thrive in their respective fields.
Our Board has a diversified membership with a majority of the members from the private (business) sector, and including representatives from secondary and post-secondary education, economic development, and community-based partners.
